We recently had a Q&A session with the Tesla UK Supercharging Team and many of you registered and joined the event, unfortunately, we weren't able to provide our usual detailed notes of the call as planned, however, we do have this document from Tesla to share with you all now which answers some (but not all) of the questions publicly.
We think the most important takeaway from this event was that:
Tesla continue to expand the Supercharging locations within the UK. Specifically, within the next year, we are planning to triple the existing Supercharger network
Obviously, a concern for many Tesla owners is the opening of the UK Supercharger Network to other brands, the above statement gives more clarification to that and it's clear from Elon's recent FT interview Tesla is well aware of this USP being hurt by doing so. Elon said:
"We are trying as best as possible to do the right thing for the advancement of electrification, even if that diminishes our competitive advantage" - Elon Musk (May 2022, FT Interview)
The club continues to push for UK supercharger sites to offer:
Improved features such as Wifi, Coffee Shops etc
Shelter from the elements (it rains in the UK sometimes)
It is great that this has now been published to allow those that was unable to attend see the notes from the session.
