On Saturday, July 24, Detail Auto and Window Tinting hosted a clinic on how to maintain your car that is wrapped in vinyl or paint protection film. They covered the ins and outs on achieving a quality wash with your vehicle while promoting the longevity of the film.
In the morning several members arrived at Detail Auto and Window Tinting at 9am for an educational session on how to take care of paint protection film, vinyl wraps and ceramic coatings. Ted and Jon demonstrated washing Ted’s Model 3 with ONR – Optimum No Rinse car wash, one of the products that Detail Auto now carries.
Additionally they also demonstrated the use of a particular sponge and bucket combo that are good for washing your car without damaging the paint. Ted and Jon also spoke about what can happen along the edges of paint protection film and what to keep an eye out for when washing your car. Jon answered questions about ceramic coatings for the paint, wheels and even the glass (different formulas) and what owners can do to keep their ceramic coating lasting for years with an annual top-coat refresh.
The session lasted just over an hour with Ted and Jon both fielding Q&A from the members in attendance. Donuts and drinks were provided, and everyone left knowing more than when they arrived. Due to a scheduling mix-up, the event was listed as taking place at both 9am and 1pm so Jon stayed until the afternoon and met with additional members at 1pm to repeat the earlier presentation.
If members were unable to attend they can call Ted or Jon at Detail Auto for more information.
