Hi, I’m Christel the Social Committee Chair for DVTOC!
My journey to loving Teslas and their mission started in 2012 when a friend of mine drove me past the Tesla research building near Silicon Valley. In the parking lot I saw the original roadster in every color...I thought to myself, “that sure looks WAY BETTER than a Prius!”
I have always had the green mindset, recycling, vegetarian, etc...but, I couldn’t bring myself to purchase a Prius or a hybrid of some sort. I wanted to be green energy conscious, but I wanted to have a fast, gorgeous car too! Tesla is the best of both worlds and who doesn’t love the Tesla Roadster?!
Just one problem, I didn’t have the money to buy one at the time. However, then came the Model 3 and I couldn’t hit the reserve button quickly enough. It was a long 2-year wait for my red, long range, dual motor beauty, but so worth it. Love at first sight? YEP!
After a week or so of driving my car, I received an email about a Tesla New Owner Bootcamp offered at Cherry Hill and thought I would check it out. What an awesome class and it was so helpful learning all the features of my new obsession with like-minded people. After my first bootcamp I couldn’t wait to help more people fall in love with these amazing cars, so I started volunteering and made great friends with what is now the board of DVTOC. What an awesome group and can’t wait to meet more DVTOC members at our next event!
Oh and yes, if you see me on the road, I will be waving!
